Job Summary
Postdoctoral Researcher position within the CRIce project at Aalto University’s Water and Environmental Engineering Research Group. The role focuses on experimental fluvial research of ice-covered river systems, combining boreal-polar field measurements with cryo-laboratory flume experiments and numerical modelling to quantify river ice cover effects on flow and sediment transport. The successful candidate will develop sediment transport calculations and numerical models, collaborate across field and lab settings, and contribute to integrating experimental and field data. The appointment is for 2 years with a starting date no later than autumn 2026, based in Espoo, Finland, with a hybrid work arrangement and a competitive starting salary around 4148 €/month. The role requires a Doctoral degree, strong English, and a willingness to work within an interdisciplinary team of researchers.
