Job Summary
Lead the technical development and real-world deployment of autonomous mobile robot assistants in long-term care settings. Collaborate with industry partners and the UBC IDEA lab to advance robot communication modalities (visual, auditory, multimodal), integrate UX/UI features with autonomous platforms, conduct usability testing in LTC homes, and mentor students while producing scholarly publications and knowledge translation.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Human–Computer Interaction, or closely related field (completed within the past five years)
- strong research knowledge and skills
- experience or interest in UX/UI implementation for interactive systems (e.g., multimodal interfaces, visualization, audio feedback)
