Job Summary

Lead projects involving radiation-activated chemistry, drug conjugates, and externally triggered therapeutic systems within the Miller Laboratory for Precision Therapeutics. Design organic synthesis of radiation-responsive linkers and prodrugs, develop antibody, protein, polymer, or nanoparticle conjugates, and investigate radiation-mediated payload activation. Characterize new compounds using HPLC, LC–MS, NMR spectroscopy, and related analytical methods, while evaluating therapeutic distribution and response through preclinical tumor models, multiplex tissue imaging, flow cytometry, and spatial-omics techniques. Collaborate with chemists, biologists, and physician-scientists across the Harvard research community.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in organic chemistry, chemical biology, biological chemistry, medicinal chemistry, materials chemistry, bioengineering, or a related discipline
  • Strong hands-on experience in organic synthesis and/or bioconjugate chemistry
  • Experience in at least one additional relevant area, such as nanoparticle formulation, polymer chemistry, medicinal chemistry, biomaterials, or drug delivery
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary research team

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Antibody–drug, protein–drug, or polymer–drug conjugates
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Stimuli-responsive or activatable chemistry
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Nanoparticle formulation and physicochemical characterization
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Radiochemistry and radiopharmaceuticals
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Cancer biology, tumor models, or cancer immunology
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Molecular imaging and microscopy
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Ultrasound-responsive materials or drug-delivery systems
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, or biodistribution
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Flow cytometry, multiplex tissue imaging, single-cell sequencing, or spatial omics
  • Strong chemistry backgrounds who are interested in expanding into cancer biology, imaging, immunology, and translational therapeutics
