Job Summary
Advance process-based vegetation modelling of Australian vegetation by developing and applying a dynamic vegetation model for Australian vegetation, collaborating to source and harmonise datasets, ensuring reproducible research through data and code management, producing model documentation and training materials, and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students while delivering reports, publications, and presentations to schedule.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in a relevant field such as ecosystem ecology, plant ecophysiology, ecohydrology or physical geography
- strong quantitative skills
- experience in computer programming and mathematical modelling
- experience with process-based vegetation models would be highly regarded
- publication record demonstrating ability to write peer-reviewed manuscripts
- ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research team
- ability to manage data and code for reproducible research
- ability to communicate findings through reports, manuscripts, and presentations
