Job Summary
Postdoctoral Research Associate to conduct high-level research supporting NSF ENACTS and other funded projects in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Develop and implement computational and experimental models, analyze complex datasets, and synthesize results to advance project objectives. Contribute to manuscripts, reports, and progress reports required by funding agencies; mentor graduate and undergraduate students; coordinate research activities and track milestones; communicate findings to faculty, students, and funding agencies. Requires a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering or closely related field, with expertise in computational modeling, data analysis, AI/machine learning pipelines, large language models, data fusion, programming in Python, and GIS tools. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment; familiarity with federal grant reporting standards is preferred. Compensation range $40k-$55k and external sponsor funding; position is located in Durham, NH; UNH is an Equal Opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering or a closely related field
- Demonstrated experience in computational modeling, data analysis, or social science research relevant to environmental systems or infrastructure
- Strong record of research productivity including publications in peer-reviewed journals
