Job Summary
Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Okeke Lab seeks an independent researcher to lead interdisciplinary work at the interface of nutrition, immunology, and the gut microbiome. Responsibilities include initiating and executing research on peptide bioactivity in vitro and in vivo, dissecting peptide-immune cell interactions, and examining how dietary-derived peptides shape the gut microbiome; authorship of research papers, presentations, and grant proposals; and assisting with laboratory management and training of graduate students. The role requires a PhD in a relevant field, experience with peptide quantification/analysis (LC-MS/MS, HPLC), microbiome analysis, and rodent models of inflammation or dietary interventions; strong communication and a track record of first-author publications are preferred. The position is based in Boston, MA, with anticipated start in September 2026 and annual renewals contingent on funding and performance.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Immunology, Nutritional sciences, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biology or related field
- Experience with peptide quantification/analysis (LC-MS/MS, HPLC)
- Experience studying peptide-immune cell interactions
- Microbiome analysis experience (16S rRNA sequencing, QIIME2, DADA2, R/Python)
- Experience with rodent models of inflammation or dietary intervention studies
- Strong communication skills and demonstrated research productivity with first-author publications
