Job Summary
Design and execute experiments in molecular biology, cell biology, and virology, specifically focusing on HIV/AIDS research. Conduct independent research using techniques such as cell culture, PCR, and imaging while training graduate students and technicians in biomedical fundamentals. Analyze experimental results, prepare manuscripts for scientific journals, and maintain detailed documentation of protocols and procedures. Collaborate with the principal investigator and other lab members to plan research and coordinate activities. Submit professional reports and presentations as part of the research output.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, virology
- Comprehensive knowledge of research principles, methodology, and procedures in the area of specialty
- Thorough knowledge of operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments
- Ability to perform experiments in a timely manner
- Ability to safely handle biohazardous materials
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work effectively with others
