Job Summary

Conduct and support research projects within your specialized field of expertise, including structure-function analysis, circuit studies, and drug discovery using brain slice and cellular electrophysiology. Collect, analyze, and interpret research data to summarize results and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals. Mentor and supervise student researchers and graduate students while preparing presentations for groups and technical progress reports for research sponsors. This grant-funded position at the Dravid Lab focuses on orphan glutamate delta-1 receptors, pain pathways, and NMDA receptors in astrocytes and interneurons.

Required Qualifications

  • Appropriate PhD in neuroscience, pharmacology, or related areas

Desired Qualifications

  • hands-on experience in brain slice or cellular electrophysiology
  • confocal and super-res imaging of synapse structures
  • structural biology including cryo-EM
  • drug discovery workflows including computational analysis
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • analytical thinking
  • a high level of attention to detail
