Job Summary

Conduct research on glutamate delta-1 receptors, NMDA receptors, and pain pathways using brain slice electrophysiology, structure-function analysis, and drug discovery workflows. Collect, analyze, and interpret research data while writing and contributing to peer-reviewed publications and technical progress reports. Mentor and supervise student researchers, prepare presentations for internal and external groups, and compile reports for grant applications. Work under general supervision with potential weekend or after-hours hours, including travel as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Appropriate PhD in neuroscience, pharmacology, or related areas
  • May have to work on the weekend and/or after normal hours
  • May travel as required
  • A cover letter, resume, and contact information for three professional references (to include at least one previous supervisor)

Desired Qualifications

  • hands-on experience in brain slice or cellular electrophysiology
  • confocal and super-res imaging of synapse structures
  • structural biology including cryo-EM
  • drug discovery workflows including computational analysis
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • analytical thinking
  • a high level of attention to detail
