Job Summary

Lead computational analysis of large-scale whole-exome and whole-genome sequencing data to identify rare coding variants associated with Parkinson's disease and ALS. Develop and apply methods that integrate protein structural information to map disease-associated variant hotspots within known disease genes and build calibrated variant effect models that combine multiple lines of molecular evidence. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to pursue biological validation of computational findings and publish scientific/methodological papers. Requires PhD in a quantitative field with strong publication record and experience in rare-variant analysis, protein structure analysis, and/or ML-based variant interpretation. Relocation benefits are available; salary range in California is $110,000–$120,000.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistical Genetics, or a related quantitative field
  • Strong scientific publication record
  • Experience with large-scale genomic data (e.g. whole-exome or whole-genome sequencing)
  • Proficiency in R or Python for statistical or bioinformatics analyses
  • Ability to communicate results to diverse audiences
  • Experience leading computational analyses in cross-functional teams
