Job Summary

Design and implement strategies for early life management in calves, developing data analytics tools to interpret complex livestock system data. Collaborate on projects related to animal health, growth performance, and production while contributing to grant writing and interdisciplinary research proposals. Execute on-farm trials to translate findings into practical evidence-based recommendations for producers, publishing results in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at conferences. Mentor and supervise undergraduate and graduate students. Travel between Fort Collins and commercial dairies, with occasional irregular hours and weekend work during active trials.

Required Qualifications

  • Completed PhD or equivalent degree from an accredited institution by start date of employment
  • Demonstrated success in publishing
  • Experience with early life management and execution of in-field research projects
  • Experience with sustainability in dairy systems
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver's license by employment start date
  • Authorized to work in the United States by employment start date
  • Travel required between Fort Collins and commercial dairies and research sites
  • occasionally irregular hours

Desired Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) ability to communicate directly with farm owners and crews
