Job Summary
Postdoctoral Fellow leading the development and implementation of multidimensional UHPLC-MS workflows for complex biotherapeutics (e.g., multispecific antibodies, ADCs, complex antibody conjugates, nucleic acids, and gene-delivery systems). Drive online, multidimensional orthogonal separations to enable in-depth physico-chemical characterization and early-stage attribute screening, bridging Research, Molecular Assessment, and Development across Genentech/Roche networks. Cultivate leadership in advanced separation techniques to shape control strategies and accelerate next-generation portfolio timelines. Requires Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Chemical Engineering with extensive HPLC and HRMS experience (Orbitrap), strong publication record, and demonstrated collaboration across cross-functional teams. The role offers a Postdoctoral program with opportunities for mentorship, seminars, and professional development, plus relocation benefits. Salary range is $100,000 to $106,500 based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other factors. Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Chemical Engineering
- Proven track record in designing, developing, and qualifying robust analytical methods for protein and/or nucleic acid characterization, demonstrated by a strong publication record as primary author in peer-reviewed journals
- Extensive hands-on experience with high-performance liquid chromatography and high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS), specifically Orbitrap platforms, across diverse analytical workflows (e.g., peptide mapping, intact/subunit mass analysis, oligonucleotide mapping)
- Proven ability to work effectively within highly matrixed, cross-functional project teams, with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and scientifically driven researcher with creative problem-solving abilities
