Job Summary
Postdoctoral position in the Stanley Center’s neurobiology-focused group led by Zohreh Farsi, PhD, and Morgan Sheng, MD, PhD. The successful candidate will investigate neurobiological mechanisms of schizophrenia using mouse models with strong human-genetic validity, formulate hypotheses, design and execute experiments, interpret data, and write/publish original papers in collaboration with Stanley Center scientists and external partners. The role emphasizes translational and basic neuroscience, multi-omics approaches (especially transcriptomics), and independent, collaborative research within a multidisciplinary team.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in neuroscience or related field
- 0-1+ years of post graduate experience
- Completion of at least one research project with first author publications
- Experience with bulk and single-nucleus RNA-seq analysis
- Experience with brain dissection, cDNA library preparation, transcriptomics data analysis
- Experience working with rodent models, including injections, behavioral assays, surgeries and brain histology
- Expertise with basic laboratory methods of molecular cell biology and imaging
- Strong initiative to drive one’s own experimental research
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and to interact with others
