Job Summary
Postdoctoral appointee to assess vehicle technologies, perform vehicle modelling and simulation of advanced powertrains to quantify energy consumption, performance and cost benefits, and benchmark next-generation vehicle systems. Responsibilities include developing and evaluating models for light/heavy-duty and alternative powertrains (hybrid, battery electric, fuel cell), validating models with test data, contributing to techno-economic analyses, collaborating with industry and national labs, and communicating results through presentations, journal articles, and reports. Ideal candidate has experience in vehicle modelling and simulation, data-driven analysis, and proficiency with Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow, with opportunities to publish and present findings.
Required Qualifications
- Recent or soon-to-be-completed PhD in Engineering or similar program
- At least 2 years of experience with electrified powertrain system modeling and simulation
- Demonstrated accomplishments in vehicle energy consumption assessment
- Proficiency in simulation tools used in analyzing vehicle energy consumption
- Passion for and experience in data-driven modeling and analysis
- Demonstrated ability to perform vehicle modelling and simulation as well as techno-economic analysis and writing scientific publications
- Familiarity with Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow and preferably Autonomie
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and in teams
Desired Qualifications
- Postdoctoral experience in vehicle engineering

- Technical experience in energy consumption assessment and techno-economic analysis
- Strong writing and presentation skills
