Job Summary
Postdoc position in neuro-morphic reinforcement learning focusing on algorithmic/theoretical foundations of RL for high-dimensional dynamical systems, intersection of deep RL, probabilistic modeling, and bio-inspired architectures (e.g., Spiking Neural Networks). Responsibilities include proving theoretical guarantees (convergence, stability, sample complexity) for control tasks in non-stationary environments and implementing scalable simulations; integration with ADIN Lab and collaboration for publications at top-tier venues; teaching assistant duties. Requires PhD and strong publication track record; programming in Python with PyTorch/JAX; familiar with probabilistic ML and bio-inspired neural architectures; located at SDU Odense, Denmark.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Theoretical Physics at time of employment
- Publication Track Record: at least two first-author papers in flagship ML venues (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AISTATS)
- Theoretical rigor in RL foundations (convergence, finite-sample analysis)
- Implementation expertise in Python, PyTorch/JAX; scalable RL pipelines or simulation environments
- Desire to contribute to fundamental ML research
- Excellent English communication skills
