Postdoc in Software Engineering - DTU Compute

Job Summary
Conduct research in software engineering focused on intelligent urban digital twins, interoperability frameworks, and scalable distributed architectures. Develop standardized reference models, benchmark datasets, and evaluation methodologies to support reproducible research. Contribute to the development, deployment, and empirical validation of software prototypes in realistic urban and cross-sector settings. Support large-scale demonstrations and longitudinal evaluations in collaboration with European project partners, municipalities, and industry actors. Publish research results in high-impact journals and conferences while contributing to project deliverables and dissemination activities. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to foster knowledge sharing across academic, industrial, and public-sector partners.
Required Qualifications
- A PhD or equivalent
- Research experience in Software Engineering, Distributed Software Systems, Edge and Cloud Computing
- A strong publication record in international peer-reviewed journals and conferences
- Ability to conduct independent research and deliver high-quality results within agreed timelines
- As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience participating in collaborative national or European research projects is an advantage
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Research experience and expertise in one or more of the following areas: Software architecture, reference architectures, and architectural design patterns
- Research experience and expertise in one or more of the following areas: Software quality attributes, including interoperability, scalability, modularity, extensibility, maintainability, and reliability
- Research experience and expertise in one or more of the following areas: Software evaluation, empirical assessment, benchmarking, and validation methods
- Research experience and expertise in one or more of the following areas: Microservice-based, cloud-native, edge, and distributed software systems
- Research experience and expertise in one or more of the following areas: Interoperability frameworks, data integration, and cross-system communication
- Research experience and expertise in one or more of the following areas: Digital twin platforms, urban data platforms, or other complex socio-technical software systems
