Job Summary

Model rotor aerodynamics using low and high fidelity methods, analyze flow on and around rotors and airfoils, and perform multi-disciplinary modeling and optimization of wind turbine rotors. Design wind turbine airfoils under multiple constraints while integrating Fluid Structure Interaction methods with industry partners. Disseminate key research results in peer-reviewed journals and scientific conferences within nationally and internationally funded projects. Apply the newest research together with leading manufacturers to facilitate multidisciplinary rotor design and investigation of new concepts.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in Wind Energy, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
  • PhD degree (or equivalent)
  • Experience within CFD
  • Experience with low fidelity modeling of aerodynamics
  • Experience with numerical optimization
  • Proficient in Python and the various numerical packages
  • Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality results
  • It is required that key research results are disseminated in peer reviewed journal papers and presented at scientific conferences
