Job Summary
Temporary Postdoc role in Micron Technology’s AMAIS group in Hyderabad. You will develop and implement numerical models to support memory development and manufacturing challenges, reporting results to the AMAIS team and collaborating on next steps. The position requires independence in algorithm development, numerical methods, and scientific computing, with experience in computational materials science and machine learning applications. Day-to-day work includes modeling materials, structures, and processes; coding and implementing models using Python, FORTRAN, C++, Bash, and common modeling tools such as OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent, or COMSOL; strong background in thermodynamics, physics, chemistry, and related fields; a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline and at least 2+ years of modeling experience; ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and communicate results through reports and papers. The role is temporary up to 12 months and based in Hyderabad, India, with remote collaboration as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Applied Chemistry, Applied Physics, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
- 2+ years of modeling
- Experience in algorithm development, numerical methods, and scientific computing
- Experience with Wet Processes, Chemical Etching and Strip, Material selectivity, Chemistry evaluation
- Strong background in thermodynamics, physics, and chemistry
- Experience with computational materials science methodologies
- Familiar with machine learning and deep learning concepts and applications
- Experience with regression, neural networks, and frameworks
- Experience with process and multi-physics modeling, and implementation
- Experience with common modeling software, previous software development and Linux experience
- Experience with Bash, Python, FORTRAN, or C++
- Experience with OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent, COMSOL
- Familiar with plasma and MC modeling
- Strong debug and problem-solving skills
- Experience writing reports and conference papers
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work in a team environment and remote collaboration tools
