Job Summary
Repair printed circuit boards, electrical, electronic, and mechanical assemblies to component level at the USPS Postal Central Repair Facility in Topeka, KS. Perform depot-level maintenance for mail processing systems, including visual inspection of small defects and operation of machines. Work on-site Monday through Friday from 7:45am to 4:15pm. Complete a 90-day On-The-Job-Training program to acquire required skills for roles such as Parts Issue Supply Clerk, Shipping and Receiving Clerk, Assembly Screening Technician, Mechanical Technician, or Electronic Technician.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- U.S. Citizenship
- Resided in the U.S. for the past five years
- No more than six months travel outside the U.S. during the past five years
- Formal mechanical training from an accredited program or equivalent military training
- Minimum of two years verifiable work history experience in mechanical and/or electromechanical repairs
- Formal electronics training from an accredited program or equivalent military training
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Close visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing a computer terminal
