Job Summary
Post Resettlement Caseworker Intern (Unpaid) with the International Rescue Committee in New York. Support resettlement services for newly arrived refugees and immigrants by assisting caseworkers with enrollment and intakes, coordinating appointments, and connecting clients to resources for basic needs such as clothing, food, shelter, and medical care. Track client meetings and progress in a spreadsheet and ETO software; help clients obtain NYS/NYC IDs; accompany clients to appointments; maintain confidential digital files; provide translation/interpretation when needed; and learn to manage employment programs, develop relationships with partners and employers, and deliver direct services to immigrant populations.
Required Qualifications
- Interns must be based in the US and must be enrolled in a post-secondary institution or have graduated from a post-secondary institution within the last 2 years
- Undergraduate-level studies in social sciences or a related field
