Job Summary

The Clinical Resident performs the duties of a behavioral (mental) health clinician, providing generalist clinical services to students; training and supervisory services to mental health clinical trainees; and consultation and programming services to faculty, staff, students, and families. Responsibilities include providing psychological services (assessments, screenings, individual and group counseling, and psychotherapy), crisis intervention (including after-hours on-call), consultation with university stakeholders, delivering psycho-educational programming, providing clinical supervision to trainees, maintaining clinical records, and participating in staff meetings and professional development. Minimum and preferred qualifications emphasize doctoral or master's-level clinical training, licensure trajectory in Ohio, and strong collaboration within a multidisciplinary team, along with proficiency in telehealth and electronic records.

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program, or MSW degree, working toward independent licensure, or a master's degree in counseling/counselor education or related field, working toward independent licensure
  • For social work and counseling, degrees conferred and licensure (LSW or LPC) by first day of Clinical Residency in Ohio
  • Supervised internship or equivalent experience in a university counseling center, mental health agency, or related professional setting
  • General skills in individual and group counseling and psychotherapy; assessment; crisis intervention
  • Ability to work on a multidisciplinary health and wellness team
  • Proficiency with office and telehealth support tools and electronic medical records software
  • Proficient written and verbal communication; time management and priority setting; initiative; judgment and decision-making
