Job Summary
Conduct experimentation leveraging human tissue processing to extract single cells, nuclei, DNA, RNA, and protein. Independently set up cell culture experiments with cell lines and primary human skin cells, then analyze results using histologic work including chromogenic and fluorescent labeling and imaging. Prepare spatial, single-cell, and bulk RNA libraries for sequencing, perform flow cytometry analysis, and contribute to documentation, data analysis, and figure preparation for publication. Support basic lab functions, including ordering supplies and assisting with training of new personnel. This full-time position (40 hours per week) is located in the dermatology laboratory in CHH1 and may include evening and weekend work. The role supports research on melanoma recurrence, inflammation in skin, and adverse reactions to cancer immunotherapy within OHSU's Dermatology Research Division.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in related field (molecular, cell biology, or biochemistry)
- Fluency with relevant mathematics / basic statistics
- experience with MS Excel
- Biochemistry and molecular biology research techniques
- tissue culture skill
