Job Summary
Harvest cochlear tissues, perform immunohistochemistry and confocal imaging, and conduct PCR and RT-PCR analysis. Measure blood flow via intravital fluorescence microscopy and auditory function using auditory brainstem response. Maintain mouse colonies, genotype transgenic mice, and administer agents through fine animal surgery such as semicircular canal procedures. Analyze and report data, write scientific papers, and present findings at conferences. Train and supervise junior research fellows on protocols including cell culture and real-time PCR. Coordinate independent and collaborative research activities for lab staff. Manage lab operations, including placing animal orders and maintaining detailed records. Requires a PhD with significant mouse auditory physiology and molecular biology experience.
