Job Summary
Post-doctoral researcher to perform reduction and analysis of NIRSpec MOS spectra and characterize spectral features of extragalactic young, low-metallicity Brown Dwarfs in the NGC 602 cluster. Develop a spectral feature catalog and, with NIRCam photometry, infer masses to create a first low-metallicity, young Brown Dwarf spectral template catalog. Part of the time may be available for independent research or new projects. Start date Summer 2026; appointment for two years. Required Qualifications
- Applicants shall hold a Ph.D. degree in Astronomy, Physics, Planetary Science, or related fields at the start of the position.
