Job Summary
Design and implement laboratory, greenhouse, and field experiments to assess soil health and nematode management using novel techniques. Conduct statistical analyses of nematode and soil health data, prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, and develop technical reports. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on research proposals and present findings at scientific meetings. Provide scientific mentorship to postgraduate students and junior researchers while ensuring adherence to established protocols and data quality standards. Contribute to ongoing projects focused on enhancing food security and natural resource integrity across sub-Saharan Africa.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Nematology, Soil Health, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated experience in field and screen house experimentation
- Demonstrated experience in data collection
- Demonstrated experience in data consolidation
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis
- Demonstrated experience in scientific report writing
- Demonstrated experience in team management
- Experience in managing research activities
- Contributing to multidisciplinary projects
- Strong knowledge of Plant Nematology and Soil Health principles
- Proven ability in data collection, management, analysis, and interpretation
- Excellent scientific writing and reporting skills
- Effective teamwork and collaboration skills
- Duty Station: Nairobi, Kenya
- Contract for an initial period of 16 months
- Remuneration package paid in US Dollars
