Job Summary
Design and conduct research optimizing psychedelic treatments by focusing on safety, adverse event reduction, and effects beyond standard clinical outcomes. Develop new ideas that promote current research and prepare and publish scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigator. May teach techniques to others, train, and supervise research staff, and may be responsible for the operation of specific equipment. The initial appointment is for one year, with renewal expected if progress is satisfactory and funds are available; appointments cannot exceed five years. This role requires residency in the state of GA and the ability to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based on business needs.
Required Qualifications
- A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS etc) in an appropriate field
- Excellent scientific writing ability
- Strong oral communication skills
- The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues
- Residency in the state of GA
Desired Qualifications
- Interests in measure development and psychometric analysis
- Interests in nosology and clinical syndrome/symptom specification
- Interests in longitudinal analysis and evaluation of risk and resilience variables in a cohort study
- Interests in qualitative analyses and mixed methods
- Interests in language analysis
- Interests in the role of adverse effects of psycho-spiritually impactful interventions
- Interests in data collection from a nationwide sample in partnership with state, federal, and private sector entities
- Interests in interdisciplinary collaboration
- Interests in patient advocacy in mental health
