Job Summary
Post-Doctoral Fellow to lead a research project in drug metabolism and clinical safety at Boehringer Ingelheim in Athens, GA. Develop and apply assays to uncover drug metabolism of pharmaceuticals, support discovery and development of treatments, and independently conduct research with publication in peer-reviewed journals. Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and present data at scientific conferences. The role emphasizes creativity, initiative, communication, and a strong background in molecular/cellular biology, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, or related pharmaceutical sciences.
Required Qualifications
- PhD degree or equivalent in Molecular, Cellular, Biochemistry or similar field with a good publications record
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to design and execute experimental strategy to advance projects
- Demonstrated creativity and novel approaches to solving scientific problems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated creativity and initiative in driving cutting edge research
- Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience in molecular parasitology; Immunology is a plus
- Good knowledge of scientific area of responsibility
- Ability to ask critical scientific questions
- Ability to synthesize new hypotheses and critique devised hypotheses
- Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Desired Skills: Experience with cell biology, HPLC and qPCR; LC-MS or metabolite identification is a plus
- Basic knowledge of drug metabolism, drug metabolizing enzymes and drug-drug interaction
