Job Summary

Conduct research experiments in a pre-determined scope and methodology, utilizing advanced in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro models to investigate metabolic dysregulation underlying MASLD, MASH, and HCC. Gather and analyze data to develop new ideas, then prepare summaries, reports, manuscripts, and presentations of research results. Assist the Principal Investigator in manuscript writing for publication, grant writing, and lab maintenance including equipment upkeep and supply ordering. Mentor junior research staff, teach techniques, and engage in professional development while staying informed on field developments. This temporary research trainee role focuses on translational liver disease research within the Department of Cancer Biology at the University of Cincinnati.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctoral Degree in the appropriate field or discipline, or the recognized terminal degree
  • In-depth knowledge of specialized field, process or discipline
  • A proven track record of first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals, specifically within liver research or closely related fields
  • Extensive experience handling mouse research, liver function assays, and related liver gene delivery
  • Must be able to provide satisfactory proof of employment eligibility via the Federal I-9 employment verification process
