Job Summary
PACU CNA assists RN with daily patient care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, ambulation, and use of assistive devices; documents vital signs, intake/output, daily weights, and other data in the EMR; participates in admission, transfer, and discharge under RN supervision; ensures patient call lights are within reach; conducts purposeful rounding and communicates observations to the RN; assists with patient positioning, transferring, and maintaining skin integrity; supports nutritional tasks and tray setup; ensures equipment like TED hose and compression devices are provided; maintains patient safety and collaborates across departments; must maintain BLS certification and Nurse Aide registration; education requirements include GED/HSED or high school diploma; experience not required. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and meet physical requirements; part-time schedule includes three days per week, 0900-1730.
Required Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Nurse Aide in good standing as indicated with the State Registry in which the team member practices
- Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED), or High School Graduate
