Job Summary
Assist individuals with intensive medical, behavioral, and mental health needs to achieve personal goals through home and community support, focusing on meal preparation, hygiene, and navigation. Advocate for rights and medical care while completing necessary documentation and record-keeping every shift. Manage crisis situations safely, including potential manual restraints, utilizing Positive Behavioral Supports training. Engage in daily trauma-informed care to ensure the safety of the individual, team, and community. Maintain consistency and routine to support meaningful participation in activities. Requires 40% FTE or greater, up-to-date training, and employment in good standing to qualify for the $2,500 hiring bonus.
Required Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of individuals
- Must physically be able to stand, squat, bend, or walk for long periods of time
- The ability to lift 50 lbs
- Must be cleared by a Bureau of Criminal Affairs (BCA) background study
- Have a driver's license
- A Motor Vehicle Check (MVR)
- Minimum education is a high school diploma
- Minimum experience is 1-2 years of working with people with complex needs
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of local community resources is a plus
- Preference is a degree in a field relevant to this role
- Preference is for 3-5 years of relevant experience
