Job Summary
Assist individuals with intensive medical, behavioral, and mental health needs to achieve independence in essential life skills like meal preparation, personal hygiene, and community navigation. Advocate for supported individuals regarding rights, medical care, and community access while engaging in daily trauma-informed care. Manage crisis situations safely and effectively, including potential use of manual restraints, and complete necessary documentation and record-keeping every shift. Work within our Integrated Community Residential Services (ICRS) programs using a person-centered approach that prioritizes consistency and routine. Candidates will receive training for Positive Behavioral Supports and manual restraints.
Required Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of individuals
- Must physically be able to stand, squat, bend, or walk for long periods of time
- The ability to lift 50 lbs
- Must be cleared by a Bureau of Criminal Affairs (BCA) background study
- Have a driver's license
- A Motor Vehicle Check (MVR)
- Minimum education is a high school diploma
- Minimum experience is 1-2 years of working with people with complex needs
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of local community resources is a plus
- Preference is a degree in a field relevant to this role
- Preference is for 3-5 years of relevant experience
