Job Summary
Portuguese-Brazilian Distance Learning Associate Language Instructor provides virtual language instruction to improve listening/reading/speaking proficiency (ILR 3/3/3 or equivalent) and delivers regional culture instruction using blended-learning methodologies. Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, assessing student work, delivering instruction via virtual platforms, maintaining a professional online learning environment, and collaborating with Managers/Coordinators to address curriculum gaps. Target qualifications include experience with online platforms (e.g., CL-150, Canvas, Moodle), DLPT/OPI-based proficiency assessment, and a Bachelor's Degree. The role emphasizes distance-learning delivery for adult learners and requires access to a suitable tech setup.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship
- Educated native speaker or near-native capability in listening, reading, and speaking with ILR 3/3/3 or equivalent
- Experience in virtual foreign language instruction
- Understanding of cultural, social, and political environment of the foreign language region
- Experience in creating blended learning lessons and tailoring materials
- Access to computer with Windows, webcam, headset with microphone, cellular phone or smart tablet, and high-speed Internet
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred) or higher
