Portfolio Strategist

Job Summary
Develop strong, trusted relationships with Horizon's consulting clients by serving as the primary interface between the Investment Management team and its financial advisory partners. Conduct portfolio construction, monitoring, and manager due diligence while evaluating investment universes and integrating Horizon strategies into customized, goals-based portfolios. Articulate capital markets analysis and intelligent research to clients, translating complex investment views into actionable insights and advocating internally for client interests. Respond promptly to client and prospect requests, provide scheduled and ad-hoc updates on strategy and positioning, and lead meetings with current and prospective clients. Travel approximately 10-20% of the time.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with a business, math, finance or economics or similar emphasis
- CFA Designation
- Outstanding analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to analyze funds, investment methodologies, and asset classes
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
- Flexible communication skills: verbal acuity and writing proficiency, ability to listen to clients, capable of translating from investment-speak to financial advisor and/or end client language
- Exceptional organization and prioritization skills
- Travel will be required approximately 10-20% of the time
Desired Qualifications
- A strong knowledge of asset allocation modeling and economic analysis
- Familiarity with multi-asset investing and financial market analysis
- Demonstrated ability and experience with investment activities including manager and strategy research, portfolio construction and implementation, portfolio measurement and monitoring, and investment policy statement construction
