Job Summary

Oversee the financial health, lending operations, and program development of the Tigua Community Development Corporation, including maintaining CDFI certification and managing compliance with tribal and program requirements. Analyze business viability and creditworthiness to evaluate loan applications, prepare recommendations for the Board Loan Review Committee, and process applications from intake through closing. Manage portfolio performance by monitoring high-risk loans, overseeing collections, administering the Loan Loss Reserve, and conducting borrower site visits. Provide technical assistance, credit repair referrals, and borrower support services while developing outreach and marketing efforts to expand program participation. Coordinate board meetings and host community initiatives to support economic opportunities for the targeted tribal community.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from a four year accredited university in Business Management, Finance, Economics, Public Administration or related field
  • Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System Certification
  • Five years (5) experience as a small business loan underwriter at a CDFI, bank, non-bank SBA lender, credit union or other financial institution
  • Valid Texas driver license
  • Ability to be insurable
  • Ability to successfully pass a post-offer drug screen
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal history background investigation
  • Familiarity with CDFI and SBA lending
  • Ability to underwrite small business loans in a medium to high volume environment
  • Experience in applying lessons learned from defaulted loans and businesses that have closed
  • Ability to adhere to the TCDC bylaws, policies, and laws of Ysleta del Sur Pueblo
  • Strong analytical, math and auditing skills
  • Ability to use qualitative and quantitative data in decision making
  • Superior communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to adapt to providing services in a culturally responsive manner
  • Demonstrated self-starter who goes beyond job description to make sure goals are achieved
  • Very organized, detail-oriented, fast and comfortable with various software programs, including loan management software and Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to meet deadlines with high level of accuracy
