Job Summary
Underwrite and manage daily credit/portfolio administrative activity within established guidelines, executing 1A risk management consistent with CIBC's risk culture. Serve as the client's primary contact for portfolio issues, reporting, and renewals, while maintaining Salesforce pipelines and driving loan closing processes. Monitor client relationships, assess needs for cross-sell opportunities, and ensure timely collection of financial reporting and covenants. Prepare quarterly trend cards, FAS 114 memos, and SOX controls to maintain accurate risk ratings. Mentor associates and support the commercial lending team on material business term changes.
Required Qualifications
- demonstrated experience in Commercial Middle Market and/or Mid-corporate Banking
- demonstrated business development skills
- solid understanding of financial statements and account principles including valuation techniques and cash flow analysis
- experience managing the credit quality of a portfolio of commercial banking clients that have credit needs

- You have a degree/diploma in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- You have demonstrated a minimum of 5 years of experience in Commercial Banking including experience in client relationship management and formal credit training
- You have demonstrated experience in loan structuring and business development
- You maintain active in industry events to maintain current market knowledge and client relationships
- Completion of Commercial Banking Training Program or equivalent is desirable
- You need to be legally eligible to work at the location(s) specified above
