Job Summary
Prepare, evaluate, analyze, and summarize portfolio investment valuation results for Blackstone's Infrastructure and Hedge Fund Solutions Strategies. Lead completion of valuation models per firm policy, manage annual audits and interim reviews with third-party firms, and drive enhancements to reporting processes and technology. Handle recurring analyses for portfolio monitoring and reporting while managing the onboarding of new investments and ensuring proper data collection. Present valuation results to internal committees, external auditors, and limited partners, and assist in training analysts and associates. Collaborate with Management Reporting and deal professionals to support planning deliverables and maintain relationships with core constituencies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or similar discipline
- 6+ years of experience in valuations, transaction services, a private equity fund, consulting, or other relevant analytical roles
- Thorough understanding of ASC 820 and corresponding valuation guidance
- Familiarity with a wide range of valuation approaches (e.g. Income, Market, Yield Analysis, OPM, Contingent Claims, PWERM etc.)
- Strong interpersonal skills, high EQ, and the ability to confidently and competently handle interactions with deal professionals, Asset Management, and portfolio company representatives
- A self-motivated individual with strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Confidence presenting to large groups of senior leaders (e.g. Firmwide Valuation Committee, Board of Directors)
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint is required
- Experience managing a team
Desired Qualifications
- CFA and/or CPA a plus
- Experience working in a dynamic environment that requires execution of recurring deliverables as well as projects and initiatives in support of a rapidly growing business
- Proficiency in iLevel, 73 Strings, or a similar platform
