Job Summary
Conduct one-on-one meetings with discretionary and non-discretionary teams to determine investment philosophy and implementation strategies. Build relationships with Portfolio Managers and their teams to discuss best practices regarding Investment Policy Statements, asset mix monitoring, and quarterly reviews. Assist with setting up advisor books for portfolio modeling and managing new client registrations, withdrawals, or asset class changes. Help teams modify investment management philosophies and liaise with Managed Solutions and Portfolio Advisory groups to gather feedback for modeling improvements. Create models, attach portfolios, run trade lists, and walk through exceptions within the ClientLink platform. Guide new recruits through trading and modeling platforms including TradeLink and A+ Desktop.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial services industry
- Bilingualism (English and French)
- CFA Level 1, CIM, or proven track record in the understanding of discretionary money management
- Willingness to travel (mix of either day trips or flights) for a combined total average of two weeks per month, often for one to four days at a time, with some overnight travel required
- Strong interpersonal (empathetic listener, coach, negotiator), communication, and presentation skills
- Comfortable meeting new people, engaging with them, and building those relationships
- Driven, eager to learn, and thrive in a high-performance environment
- Advanced computer skills, especially Excel
Desired Qualifications
- Background in an RBC Dominion Securities retail branch environment, preferably on a discretionary team, with familiarity of processes, technology, products, services, and portfolio management concepts and techniques
