Portfolio Leader

$160,000–$160,000 year

RemoteUnited States

Full TimeSmall

Job Summary

Own results and key KPIs—GRR, NRR, Rule of 40, and BHS—across a cluster of portfolio companies, setting and defending performance targets for each. Allocate attention, resources, and capital based on value generation, handling cross-company ROI trade-offs and monitoring risks early. Manage and develop the General Managers running each company, building bench strength and owning hiring, performance management, and succession planning. Serve as the business-side guide for integrating new acquisitions, participating in diligence and supporting 100-day planning. Partner with your Operating Partner to determine investment timing and balance risk, providing financial modeling to support cluster-level decisions. Ensure strong operating discipline and accurate reporting, representing cluster performance to investors and leadership while escalating early warning signals.

Required Qualifications

  • A track record of running a P&L at the GM/CEO level, with strong, demonstrated results.
  • Comfort setting and defending financial targets — GRR, NRR, Rule of 40, and Bookings Health Score (BHS) — across more than one business at a time.
  • A sharp instinct for capital allocation: knowing where a dollar of investment or attention will do the most good across a cluster of companies.
  • Experience developing and coaching other operators; a track record of building bench strength, not just hitting your own numbers.
  • Exposure to M&A — able to serve as a business-side guide on diligence and integration for companies joining your portfolio.
  • Comfort operating in a lean, fast-moving environment — scrappy and decisive, not reliant on large teams or heavyweight processes.
  • An ability to translate performance and trade-offs into clear narratives for GMs, your Operating Partner, and leadership.
  • Familiarity with software / SaaS business models and the metrics that matter (ARR, NRR, LTV/CAC, Rule of 40, etc.).
  • Demonstrated, verifiable success running a P&L at the GM/CEO level.
  • Proven ability to institute leadership growth — you've built leaders, not just delivered numbers.
  • Capacity to orchestrate multiple P&Ls at once; comfort with the ambiguity of cross-company trade-offs.
  • Deep understanding of software / SaaS business models and recurring revenue dynamics.
  • Exceptional communicator — able to build credibility quickly with GMs, your Operating Partner, and leadership.
  • Comfortable working in a lean environment without a large supporting team; resourceful and execution-oriented.
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and a long-term orientation that aligns with Solen's culture.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with M&A diligence, integration, or sourcing is a plus.
