Portfolio Coordinator / Associate, Hardtech

Job Summary
Coordinate company onboarding into the Hardtech portfolio and organize program delivery, including seminars and workshops with guidance from the Portfolio Manager. Manage input of portfolio data into Salesforce, ensuring clean and current records for internal reporting, while collecting data and drafting narratives for funder reports. Match portfolio companies with relevant internal services such as Advisors, Investor Readiness, and IP support, and build relationships with founders to share opportunities aligned with their milestones. Oversee the delivery of specified programs like EIF and begin developing sector knowledge in hardtech, medtech, semiconductors, or advanced manufacturing. Work within ventureLab's Founder Success team to drive venture success, with a hybrid schedule requiring minimum two days in Markham.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years of progressive experience in one or more of the following: Startup programs, accelerators, or innovation hubs
- Management consulting, strategy, or commercialization advisory
- Demonstrated experience working directly with startups or scaleups, either as: A founder or early employee
- A service provider delivering commercialization, growth, or market-entry support
- Strong customer service orientation
- Strong attention to detail
- Competence with data collection and reporting
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (business, engineering, economics, international relations, or related field)
Desired Qualifications
- Direct exposure to: Experience in Hardtech, medtech, semiconductors, or advanced manufacturing and AI
- Familiarity with Canadian innovation programs (e.g., IRAP, OVIN, OCI, FedDev, Trade Commissioner Service)
- Experience working within or alongside publicly funded organizations with reporting and accountability requirements
