Job Summary
Transport clients of all ages with varying illness and injury complexity, including deceased clients, between hospital areas using stretchers, wheelchairs, and beds. Assist nursing and technical staff with lifting and transferring clients as required. Maintain supplies for designated areas, clean equipment and storage spaces, and pick up or deliver equipment, supplies, specimens, blood products, and other items as assigned. Operate a facsimile and/or photocopier when needed. This role operates within a client and family-centered care model under general supervision. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12
- one year's recent, related experience in an acute care environment
- equivalent combination of education, training and recent, related experience
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to organize work
- Ability to operate related equipment
