Job Summary
Maintain cleanliness and perform minor repairs in a residential shelter, including floor care, kitchen and bathroom sanitation, trash management, and window cleaning. Execute exterior snow and ice removal, lawn maintenance, landscaping, and rodent control. Conduct periodic inspections of the building, dorms, and offices for hazards, and verify fire safety equipment functionality. Manage maintenance tools, launder linens and towels, assist with moving supplies and furniture, and support interior decorating projects. Drive agency vehicles and wear a clean maintenance uniform. Maintain CPR and First Aid certification, attend staff meetings and trainings, and complete other tasks as assigned by leadership.
Required Qualifications
- At least two years of building maintenance experience in a large residential/institutional setting working with special needs population
- Must possess good interpersonal skills
- A work schedule that includes some weekend and evening hours
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- NYS Driver's License
Additional Requirements
- Must wear SUS maintenance uniform.
- Must maintain compliance with safety regulations.
