Job Summary
Vacuum and shampoo carpets, strip and refinish floor surfaces, and dispose of refuse per established sanitation procedures. Clean floors, stairwells, windows, and air vents, while washing wheelchairs and operating pressure cleaning equipment. Transport linen to laundry facilities and assist in moving furniture, fixtures, and residents during special events or evacuations. Perform duties involving bending, standing, and lifting items exceeding 50 pounds, subject to frequent interruptions and potential contact with upset residents. Work full-time 6a-2p with availability for weekend and holiday coverage as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year experience performing industrial or hotel cleaning or equivalent, preferably in a hospital or nursing home environment
- Must be able to speak, read, write English
- Must be able to lift laundry, furniture, equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of twenty five (50) pounds
- Must assist in the evacuation of residents
- May be required to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays as necessary
- May be subject to hostile and sometimes upset residents
