Job Summary
The Commercial Building Porter maintains cleanliness and upkeep of multiple commercial properties, including common areas, restrooms, exterior grounds, and tenant spaces. Responsibilities include cleaning exterior areas, reporting maintenance issues or safety hazards, assisting with building inspections and special cleaning projects, supporting tenant requests with excellent customer service, and operating cleaning equipment (vacuum, floor scrubbers, buffers, pressure washers) safely while following safety policies and OSHA guidelines. The role involves traveling between assigned properties within the DFW area, requires a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, and typically runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Physical duties include standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working indoors/outdoors in varying weather. The position is full-time, permanent, and offers benefits such as paid holidays, health and life insurance, 401k, and various HSAs/FSAs; located across multiple sites with a focus on consistent customer service in a real estate/property-management context.
Required Qualifications
- Previous porter, janitorial, or commercial cleaning experience preferred
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, maintain proof of insurance, and have reliable transportation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and reliability
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment preferred
- Position requires verbal and written English communication sufficient to perform essential job functions
