Portable Technician

Inspect, recharge, and service portable fire extinguishers in commercial environments. Install extinguishers according to NFPA 10, inspect monthly or annually, test performance (discharge time, range, flow rate), and perform routine maintenance (cleaning, replacement parts). Educate users on operating extinguishers and the PASS technique; maintain service records with date, location, type, size, and condition; report unreparable issues to supervisors or clients and recommend replacement when necessary. Comply with local and state fire-safety regulations and obtain required permits/licenses. Assist with building and facilities maintenance as needed. Education and experience requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license and clean driving record, possession or willingness to obtain a State Fire Marshall portable license, willingness to undergo a pre-hire background check and drug screen, and ability to perform physical duties (lifting, climbing ladders, working with hazardous environments). Must reside near Brooklyn, NY area, and be able to work regular hours with safety gear and appropriate PPE. Pay will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
