Job Summary
Diagnose and repair portable power equipment, including diesel, gas, and LP generators, to ensure all units meet quality and safety standards. Operate and test equipment under actual conditions, read schematics, and provide guidance to Service Technicians on appropriate repairs. Assist in equipment retirement decisions and maintain inventory control documents while following all paperwork and computer procedures. Prioritize safety by adhering to PPE requirements, SOPs, and policies, and treat every customer fairly while explaining features and safe operating techniques.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of generator repair or related experience
- G Class (ON)/Class 5 (AB) Provincial Driver's License and current clean driver's abstract
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis
- Must possess a mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Desired Qualifications
- Heavy equipment trades certification
- EGSA certification
- Small engine repair experience
- Experience with Health and Safety training (i.e. WHMIS, etc.)
