Job Summary
Port Manager leads and develops the port-office team to ensure profitable operations aligned with company goals, overseeing budgeting, cost control, and KPI/P&L analysis. Responsible for safety programs, training compliance, and coordinating with senior leadership, port authorities, and customers. Manages recruitment, performance reviews, and staff development, ensuring timely reporting, CRM usage, and quality of communications. Requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, onboard/offsite operations, and travel regionally/internationally as needed. Onsite role with an emphasis on achieving defined profit margins, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in port operations.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the Maritime Industry
- Minimum of three (3) years management experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Maritime, or related field desirable
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) within 90 days
- Must have valid driver’s license and accident-free motor vehicle record
- Must be able to travel regionally and internationally as required
- Must be able to work onsite fulltime at assigned office
- Strong leadership and team-management abilities
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Experience with budgeting, performance reviews, and HR processes
- Understanding of safety programs and regulatory compliance (maritime, OSHA, Coast Guard)
