Job Summary
Conduct complex medication reviews and support quality use of medicines initiatives alongside primary care providers, community Māori and Pacific health providers, and secondary care services. Collaborate with diverse health settings to identify and address disparities in medicine utilisation and prescribing practices, using data and evidence-based approaches to improve health outcomes for underserved communities. Apply clinical expertise to influence positive change while upholding the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally safe practice. Manage competing priorities with strong stakeholder engagement skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Hold a Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent) and a postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy qualification
- Be registered with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate with no restrictions
- Have at least 5 years' post-registration pharmacy experience
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of medicines optimisation, prescribing quality, and population health approaches
- Have an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, health equity, and culturally safe practice
- Possess excellent relationship-building, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Be able to analyse data, identify trends, and develop practical solutions to improve health outcomes
- Have strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Be self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement and professional development
- Hold a current New Zealand driver's licence
