Job Summary
Referral Coordinator responsibilities include coordinating internal and external communications among staff, patients and providers; collecting and distributing records; scheduling and coordinating referral appointments (specialist, surgical, urgent) and related transportation/interpreters as needed; verifying medical records, maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA, and providing support to office personnel. Requires experience in scheduling processes and customer service, with familiarity using hospital information systems and basic computer functions. Strong communication, organizational, and patient-facing skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; Basic course in medical terminology/anatomy preferred
