Pool Technician III, Full-Time

Job Summary
Diagnose and repair pool and spa equipment including electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, and water chemistry systems throughout the campus. Perform preventive maintenance, document all work, and respond to guest calls regarding equipment issues in an efficient, professional, and timely manner. Comply with Engineering Department policies and procedures while maintaining proper inventory levels and cleaning mechanical areas. Respond as required to emergency conditions such as evacuations, fires, power failures, and hurricanes. Obtain Certified Pool Operators Certification within 90 days of employment. This role requires extended hours in an outdoor environment with temperatures ranging from below 20 to above 95 degrees Fahrenheit for up to five months, plus occasional driving.
Required Qualifications
- High school education, GED, or equivalent experience
- At least 2 to 4 years of field experience maintaining one or more of the following types of equipment: Pool and Spa Equipment, HVAC, Electrical/Mechanical, Plumbing, Commercial Kitchen, Commercial Laundry and Refrigeration
- Must obtain Certified Pool Operators Certification within 90 days of employment
- Valid Texas Drivers License
- Good driving record
- Ability to safely operate a company vehicle equipped with a lift gate and/or a standard transmission
- Ability to effectively engage in one-on-one communication with guests, members, and customers
- Ability to use a 2-way radio to communicate clearly and accurately with co-workers
- Ability to accurately read instructions, data plates, equipment serial numbers, and work orders
- Ability to work with computers, read gauges and charts
- Ability to perform maintenance work using flashlights and under varied lighting conditions
- Ability to effectively perform cosmetic and decorative work in guest rooms and public areas
- Ability to produce, read and understand reports, including security, incident and police reports
- Ability to analyze and process written information from a variety of sources
- Ability to effectively communicate content of reports
- Ability to work safely with chemicals according to SDS sheets and all applicable laws, codes and regulatory requirements
- Physical Stamina: Frequent standing, walking, climbing of ladders and stairs, kneeling, reaching overhead, lifting and carrying various objects weighing up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work safely and effectively in outdoor temperatures
- Ability to swim
