Job Summary
Monitor all Club patrons on Buccaneer Island to ensure adherence to policies, traditions, and procedures, with special attention to dress code and family-friendly decorum. Continuously observe facility functions to maintain a safe environment, track daily reminders for historical decreases, and document incidents, complaints, or suggestions reported daily. Communicate clearly with departmental management and guests who display unwillingness to follow rules, while assisting with departmental requests, maintaining facility cleanliness, and executing standard opening and closing procedures. Swim 100 yards and lift 45 pounds as required.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to swim 100 yards
- Able to lift a minimum 45 pounds
- An ability to deal effectively in English both verbally and in writing
- Friendly, confident, and professional personality
- Ability to communicate effectively and convincingly
- Must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
- Must be able to play a supporting role in other Buccaneer Island departments for periods when deemed necessary
- Must be able to monitor the behavior of all Club Members and guests
- Must ensure Club-appropriate decorum is displayed
- Must ensure family friendly environment is maintained
- Must ensure all posted policies and procedures are adhered to
- Must consistently display the ability to communicate Club Policy in a professional manner
- Must be highly visible throughout the day
- Must communicate clearly with departmental management
- Must communicate with Members or Guests who display an unwillingness to follow Club rules
- Must display the ability to receive Member and Guest feedback in a professional manner
- Must ensure only Club Members and registered Club guests are accessing the facility
- Must maintain positive, professional relations with Club Members and guests
- Must monitor all facility functions to ensure a safe working environment
- Must assist Club Members and guests with departmental related requests
- Must assist fellow Recreation Department Team Members with maintaining a clean, tidy facility
- Must assist fellow Recreation Department Team Members with standard opening and closing procedures
- Must ensure all procedures for rental of aquatics, charges of the retail operations and daily operation procedures of beach and pool equipment are adhered to
- Must report to Supervisor any and all incidents, complaints or suggestions given on a daily basis
- Must document any necessary incidents
- Must have regular attendance in conformance with the standards
- Must comply with Ocean Reef Club rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operations of hotel facilities
- Must be able to explain and demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions of the job
Desired Qualifications
- CPR and First Aid Certifications
- High school education
- Prior experience working in a club or resort atmosphere
